De Coffs restaurant
De Coff's is a restaurant located in Salem, MA. The De Coffs established this restaurant around 1930's. The De Coff's menu includes mostly beef, chicken, and pork with the exception of very little vegetables, and deserts. This type of restaurant is popular around New England due to the easy access to different types of meats or fish. The front of the menu that you see when looking at it before you close it is the huge ship, with rope spelling the name of the restaurant. This gives the viewers that this is partly a seafood restaurant, which on the menu has a lot of different types of lobster. Also the ships are a part of Salem when importing, and exporting things. One thing that I like the most about this menu is that this menu has a mixture of everything, so everyone can get something, they even have a kids menu. Having the diversity in the menu makes the restaurant seem family friendly, and just friendly for everyone.
De Coff's was a general restaurant offering basic seafood, such as lobster, they had beef, chicken, soups, sandwiches, and very little deserts. This restaurant severs mostly meats because it's well known that if you were going to go out to eat it should be for meats or stuff you may not be able to make or buy for home.
This menu is for De Coff's restaurant in Salem, MA. De Coff's restaurant was located on 49-51 Washington street in Salem. During this time around the 1930's Salem was, and still is very famous for there fresh seafood which was easy to catch because the sea was right by Salem.
The menu has mostly meat and lobster, but also and a kid’s menu, which another person in the class is searching. I could not find a date when the restaurant closed, but as of now it is a liquor store. I could not find when the exact date of this menu is, however, due to the prices of the items on the menu, I have compared some items and it is shown to around 1933 because the prohibition movement lasted until 1933.
On the back of this menu, a quote is provided. It says "Here at De Coff's you'll fill you tummy, brother, sister, father and mummy, and hope you'll pass the word along, if you've enjoyed what we've brought on. We hope to serve you fancy dishes, or whatever for will fill your wishes. And if our si does not contend, then we will try to make amend. So butcher and baker and candlestick make, we hope to impress you that we are no fakers. Our policy aims are true and strong, and in our place you can't go wrong ". I think this is great because when you close your menu, you can tell that the family who ran this restaurant cared for there costumers.
