The Point, Salem, Mass [French District] after Fire of June 25, 1914

This photo shows the Point neighborhood after the Great Salem Fire of 1914. The Franco-Americans that inhabited this area, which ranges from Peabody Street all the way to Chase Street, about four blocks, built up this neighborhood in order to try to keep their people and culture together.
