DEPARTMENT OF UNIVERSITY EXTENSION MASSACHUSETTS BOARD OF EDUCATION (AMERICANIZATION LETTER)

This letter is an act to promote Americanization through the Education of Adult Persons unable to use the English Language. With the cooperation of several cities and towns in Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Board of Education will provide an education for people over the age of 21 who are unable to speak, read, and write the English language with teachers and supervisors in Americanization work. The instruction must be taught in English and the subject matter must follow the fundamental principles of government, and American citizenship ideas.
