Civics: Acting as a "true" American
These images come from an official government document designed for teacher training programs in the 1920s. The pamphlet features scenarios that are typically experienced in the first, second, and third years of school and goes on to lay down the guidelines for how teachers ought to be handling these situations. By doing so, the U.S. government has the power promote the behaviors they wish to see by training teachers the desired way to respond to children in the classroom.
