Who we are

This project comes out of a course on Postcolonial Digital Humanities at Salem State University taught by Professor Keja Valens. 

Alyssa Carrizales is currently studying English in the M.A. program at Salem State University and has recently completed her first year in the Graduate Assistantship program. After receiving her B.A. in English at the University of Houston in Texas, she moved to Massachusetts to broaden and enrich her academic network. Following her degree completion, she intends to pursue editorial work abroad.

Dori Clayton is originally from California, but currently lives in Salem, Massachusetts. She is a first year grad student working on her Masters in English at Salem State.

Hannah Drew is a full-time student from central Massachusetts working on her Masters in English at Salem State with hopes to finish in 2021

Kevin Farrington lives and works on the North Shore of Massachusetts and considers himself as a New Englander. He grew up in Connecticut, lived in Rhode Island for about 6 years, including college, and has been in the greater Boston area for the last 8 years. He is a high school English teacher in his 10th year of teaching, currently at St. John's Prep in Danvers, MA. He is working towards his Masters of English at Salem State.

Devin Johnson is North Shore resident and a full-time student at Salem State University.

Joselin Lemus is first generation Salvadoran-American part-time student living in and from Massachusetts with goals of being a writer. She is currently working on her Masters in English.

Evan Miller was born and raised in Marshfield, Massachusetts and presently resides in Beverly, Massachusetts. He is an aspiring English teacher currently pursuing a dual-Master's from Salem State University in English and Teaching

Pat Morse is from the North Shore of Massachusetts. Growing up in the region, Salem State University was a natural choice for pursuing his undergraduate degree in English and Secondary Education. He has taught high school students in Istanbul, Washington, D.C. and now lives and teaches in Lynn, Massachusetts. He is pursuing his Masters Degree in English Literature.

Caitlin Provost grew up on the North shore and currently resides in Haverhill, Massachusetts. She has a BS in Communications and is currently in the MA/MAT in English program both from Salem State University. This is her 7th year teaching 7th grade at Lawrence Public Schools.

Ryan Travis is an ELA secondary education teacher working in the juvenile justice system, he will graduate in May of 2020 with his Masters in English, he lives on the North Shore with his wife Holly and their two cats.
