This photo of an advertisement board is something that shows how important the business of the Franco-American's was to the Salem community. Businesses that are not French-Canadian felt it necessary to put an ad for their non-French business in the language of St. Joe's people in order to gain their business. This shows what a large population of Salem the Franco-American's were.
