William Gibbs
William Gibbs was a pen pal of Miss McGlynn who was deployed. In this letter he talks about how the men he saw stationed with, from all over the world, enjoyed the treats that were sent from the people of Salem. He even goes to far as to say that they begged to have some of the brownies that were sent. People from around the world were eating food that was sent from Salem, and they were now aware of some of the desserts from Salem. Cultures were shared especially through food during World War ll and Gibbs' platoons actions and his letter are perfect examples of this culural sharing.
