Salem Maritime Historic Site

This popular site is often visited even today, yet the Salem Maritime Historic Site is a large piece to Salem history. This part of Salem was where the immigrants were brought once in Massachusetts. Between 2007-2009, a study was done in Salem to do more research on the relevance of this port and its connection to Derby Street and the Polish community, which supported Salem's ideas on cultural identity. The study examined archives, museums, artifacts, and also included commnuity member interviews.
